Kaituhi Rāwhiti Two: Weaving of Words from the East Coast contains writing to touch the wairua of everyone. This book includes talented writers and poets from High School students to octagenarians, new and published authors and everything in between. Like the actions of weaving, the work takes you up and down, over and under, as the flax whips in the opposite direction. The texture, colour and pattern of the weave draw the reader into the fabric of our whenua. In Kaituhi Rāwhiti Two, we have woven poetry and prose into a kete brimming with talent.

 ‘Tena tātou e te Whānau.
Every anthology is a constellation and, like summer stars, Kaituhi Rāwhiti 2 has risen again over the East Coast. It’s a thrilling ascent to watch, with last year’s editors and writers joined by new contributors in a bigger and more expansive display of Te Tairawhiti mana and literary power. I congratulate the editorial team for their hard work in easing Kaituhi Rawhiti Two above the horizon so that we can, again, see who our literary stars are. There are some powerful voices coming through and quite a few surprises, including some cuzzies and sistahs who are giving me the hint: move over bro.’ – Witi Ihimaera
